NetworkNewsBreaks – First Cobalt Corp. (TSX.V: FCC) (OTCQX: FTSSF) Adds Two Drill Rigs to Iron Creek Cobalt Project

Cobalt exploration and development company First Cobalt (TSX.V: FCC) (OTCQX: FTSSF) this morning announced that it is now drilling from the surface and underground at its Iron Creek Cobalt Project as two additional drill rigs have been mobilized. The addition of two surface rigs will accelerate drilling results and complement ongoing underground drilling at the project. Surface drilling stations were built earlier this year and both rigs have commenced operation. “Our confidence level in the growing footprint of the Iron Creek project warrants an acceleration of drilling activities. A maiden resource estimate is underway and will be available by October. We believe Iron Creek is an important part of the pipeline of cobalt concentrate we intend to feed into the First Cobalt Refinery in Ontario and the addition of two more drill rigs will significantly speed up activities,” First Cobalt president and chief executive officer Trent Mell stated in the news release.

Amid furor, Trump pushes pause on deciding Rosenstein's fate

Sep 23, 2018

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — As Air Force One streaked across the desert sky and Las Vegas faded in the distance, President Donald Trump began seeking opinions. The TVs on the plane, tuned as always to Fox News, carried headlines about an explosive new story: Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein had suggested wearing a wire to secretly record Trump, and raised the idea of using the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office. On the flights both to and from a Missouri rally, Trump polled staff on the plane, called his outside network of advisers and kept a careful eye on...

Spain saves some 440 migrants; new crackdown on rescue boat

Sep 23, 2018

ROME — Spain's maritime rescue service said Sunday it rescued more than 400 people from 15 small boats, most of them off the country's southern coast, while humanitarian groups lamented that the sole private rescue boat operating near the deadly central Mediterranean human trafficking route risked being put out of action by Italy's anti-migrant leaders. While the Spaniards pulled 447 people to safety on Saturday in the western part of the sea, two humanitarian groups which operate the last private rescue vessel in the central Mediterranean, considered the deadliest route for trafficked migrants, said Panama had yanked the ship's registration...

Maldives' opposition presidential candidate claims victory

Sep 23, 2018

MALE, Maldives — Opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, a longtime but little-known lawmaker, declared victory at his party's campaign headquarters in the capital city Male in a contentious election widely seen as a referendum on the island nation's young democracy. Supporters draped in the Maldives' flag took to the streets, hugging one another, cheering and honking horns to celebrate Solih's unexpected win. Solih had 58.3 percent of the vote, with nearly 92 percent of ballots counted just after midnight Monday, according to independent newspaper website mihaaru.com. Election watchdog Transparency Maldives tweeted that Solih had won "by a decisive margin."...

Independent newspaper website mihaaru.com reports that Solih has 58.3 percent of the vote, with nearly 92 percent of ballots counted. Independent election watchdog Transparency Maldives tweeted that Solih has won "by a decisive margin." The opposition had feared the election would be rigged in favor of Maldives' strongman President Yameen Abdul Gayoom, whose first term in office was marked by a crackdown on political rivals, courts and the media....

German government reaches deal to solve spy chief dispute

Sep 23, 2018

BERLIN — Leaders of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's governing coalition reached a deal Sunday to resolve a standoff over the future of the country's domestic intelligence chief, a dispute that has further dented the image of their fractious six-month-old alliance. The center-left Social Democrats have insisted that Hans-Georg Maassen be removed as head of the BfV spy agency for appearing to downplay recent violence against migrants, but conservative Interior Minister Horst Seehofer has stood by him. Last week, coalition leaders agreed to replace Maassen as head of the BfV but give him a new job as a deputy interior minister,...
